Earth [Etc.]
Universe: The Universe is what is known as the collection of everything. Beyond the atmosphere of Earth is a vast expanse of other galaxies, solar systems, planets, stars, moons, and lately, other civilizations.
World Alliance: The World Alliance is the group of six Worlds in the System that can be much compared to the United Nations of Earth. Desolace, Edamar, Larytus, Jugaras, Jugaras and Libren make up the current World Alliance.
Erathas Miror: Eternal Mirror, in English, it is the group of six young adults that have incredible power and influence in the System. At the moment they are teenagers and still going through their training.
Alliance Member: A common name for anyone who is directly involved with the proceedings of the World Alliance. This name can be used to refer to a world, a group, a diplomat, or any other singular member involved in any proceedings.
Telescopes: The most advanced pieces of technology that Earth owns in the category of exploration to date.
Dakryus
The System: The name for the area in which the seven Worlds reside. Akin to the 'solar system' of Earth.
Sand Serpent: A snake that lives underground in the warm sands, and can travel very fast by tunneling inches under the surface. Small by nature, but some have grown rather large, reaching up to twelve feet in length. They are, of course, limited to slower speeds as they grow, so the younger ones are feared more than their adult kin.
Dark Bat: A bat that has a potent venom, and a small amount of dark magic abilities. The magic is generally used to stun, and is often used in the same way that echolocation is used, but can have damaging effects on the prey that hears it.
Rogue Skeleton: A skeleton of a creature, human or other race that has been enchanted with dark magic to roam the lands and do their master's bidding. Often used as bodyguards and servants, it takes much magic power to keep them animated and in check. Magicians who become weak are sometimes killed at the hands of their animated skeletons, who then have up to a week to find a new master until the magic wears off and they fall back to the earth.
Clouds: The clouds of Dakryus are slightly poisonous, and are avoided at all costs except those who can avoid breathing in the fumes. They also keep heat in, and light out.
Spire: The residence of the ruler of Dakryus. Visiting is prohibited. Damaged slightly in the battle between the late Lord Zayen and the Erathas Miror, there is currently no leader residing in the Spire.
Eternal Trench: An incredibly large canyon that stretches for miles, and that is easily visible from space. It is many times larger than Earth's Grand Canyon.
Throne: The throne of Dakryus signifies the dictatorship that has hold over the world. A simple stone seat, it is said to accept only the true ruler of the world. Anyone else who sits on the throne is said to suffer a week of painful sickness. Centuries ago, this was how leaders were chosen.
Resources: Until lately, resources on Dakryus have been plentiful; now that trade has been stopped, Dakryus has used most of its resources, and expansion has been brought to a halt.
Earth (Time): Many calendars and time measurements in the System are done using an Earth calendar for the sake of ease of use. Time zones are measures by The System, however.
Strategist: The minds of their time, they were the most brilliant tacticians, most often taking positions such as generals on the battlefield.
Conspirators: Many people believe that Dakryus is planning another war, and that they have found secret resources to continue to construct their hidden armies. However, after Lord Zayen's failed attempt at destroying any opposition, Dakryus has been watched and monitored extra closely.
Larytus
Symik: The official language of the System, most bilingual speakers have mastered this as their second language. As a young language, it has roots in many of the ancient languages, so many ghosts of those who died before the language was created have still been known to hold conversations in the ancient languages with the modern world.
Shielding (Enchantments): The enchantments on most of the houses in Larytus have been enchanted to repel weapon fire, harmful magic, and even household pests. They are regenerated at least once every week by a team of magicians in charge of a district. These magicians go house by house recharging the enchantments.
Supernatural: Psychics from Larytus are often called in to deal with matters such as ghosts, hauntings, or possessions. Most psychics have no actual magical power, but some have perfected the art of telekinesis.
Flash Storms: Flash storms are dangerous. They are like normal storms, but slightly more powerful, and strike very quickly, and without warning.
Temple of Memory: The temple of memory is where many people gather to retrieve various pieces of information like lost memories, lost loved ones, or possessions. A ritual of twenty-four hours of prayer is required, and the blood of the person retrieving the memory is also needed to complete the process, though it can be something as simple as a prick of the finger, so it is never an issue. In the past, people were known to have given more blood in the hopes they would retrieve more knowledge, and would end up in the hospital. In the present day warning signs are posted around the temple, as well as a volunteer medical tent that is present 24/7/365.
Memory Returnings: People often have these at the Temple of Memory; it is the event where a person or people experience a sudden remembrance, where something they have forgotten is now fresh in their minds. Once a memory has been returned from the Temple, it cannot be retrieved again. Because of this, many people bring notepads and laptops with them in an effort to write down as much of the memory as they can so they can go over it to ensure remembrance.
Affiliation: The term before alliance, affiliation was the term used to describe worlds that had a peaceful relation with one another. Once the World Alliance was created as a definite form of world relations, the term affiliation was reserved for non-membersm, such as non-partisan groups that hold places in more than one world that don't have any involvement in World affairs. An example of an affiliation would be a volunteer medical group that is designed to help all worlds equally but has no place in politics. In contrast, a non-partisan group that is still considered a member would be the Erathas Miror.
Revolution: The revolution on Larytus involved many changes, including technology, magic, expansion and other things, the end result being the inclusion of Larytus in the World Alliance.
Desolace
Issues: The common term that describes problems or simply things that are discussed within the Alliance. While the Alliance discusses many things, some of the issues have been deemed singular to world governments only, and thus are never touched in discussions.
Silver Spider: A very poisonous spider that has a silver hue to it; from a distance it appears to be made of foil. The silver is a thin layer of armour, and makes the spider hard to get rid of. The spiders live to very old ages and never stop growing. Some of the oldest Silver Spiders have grown to sizes rivaling that of a small truck.
The Manor: The current residence of President Hale, the Erathas Miror, and various others.
Tree of Eternity: A tree planted long ago by a traveler, which has since grown to become a beacon of light energy. It is considered a sacred place. Believed dead and destroyed in the direct prelude to the war with Dakryus, a group of Larytan magicians has been charged with the task of attempting to bring the tree back to life by reversing the damage caused by dark magics.
Altar of Ages: An altar which is dedicated to history itself, constructed after it was thought that the past was not given enough recognition.
Dredeva Mountain: A massive mountain that used to be the home of the Dredeva civilization. While no living beings reside in the mountain, as President Hale put it, the ghosts of the entire civilization are still there. They are turned visible by moonlight, and were an immense help to the Erathas Miror during the war.
Factions: Civilizations were grouped into factions, areas of land or power that were controlled much like countries.
Region: Regions were the places that civilizations sought to control; usually single bodies of land or bordered territory.
Jugaras
Crater of Mark: A large crater created by weapon fire that has since turned into a swamp.
Assassinations: Many times done for security reasons, elite members of the Jugaras force are often called in for this task.
Reported Deaths: The total amount of real deaths may never be known. If anyone goes missing on Jugaras for over a week, they are presumed dead. Not very many people have been known to return after a week has passed -- indeed, there are only six documented cases of people returning after extended amounts of time in the Jugaran forests, the longest time spent alone being three months.
Edamar
Problems: Many people have said that Edamar, after gaining a large amount of power, would seek to abuse their newfound abilities. This has since been proven false, as Edamar is a responsible part of the World Alliance, but the conspiracy theories have always existed.
Storms: The storms here have the chance to be incredibly dangerous, and include monsoons, tidal waves, water spouts, and hurricanes. Most of the island towns have been built in ways that are resistant to storms, though if people are outside during the storms, they are at the storms' complete mercy.
Research Vessels: Many scientists believe that there is a reason for the massive size of the whirlpool, and have sought to find it; no one has ever gotten close enough. The sheer force of the water pressure is enough to destroy any mechanical vessel. Surprisingly, there have been some life forms visible inside the whirlpool, yet no one has been able to find out what they are or how they are able to withstand the water pressure.
Storms (Traveling): Many planes in the past, while traveling to Edamar, have been brought down by storms. Since then, stringent flying guidelines have been implemented, directing pilots to steer clear of storms at any cost. All planes, no matter how small, have also undergone refits to include better storm-detecting equipment.
Libren
Change: A few small groups of people are determined to see Libren's status changed to a moon, instead of a world. No one is really sure why. Many comedy shows have related them to the select population of Earth that believes their planet is flat.
Historical: As Libren has the most textual references of any world, it is only natural that historical matters be presented to them. They do not only hold the most historical references but the most historical documents and relics.
Time of year: The general temperature changes depending on the time of year, but it maintains a relative stability year-round.
Education: Libren's focus on education was a kick in the right direction for all the worlds in the System, which had before focused nearly exclusively on expansion.
Resources: Due to its small size, Libren does not have a large amount of resources at hand.
Races
Humans: Humans thrive in the strength of their technological and scientific advances. They are quite advanced as a race, but possess no unusual physical or mental abilities, with the exception of those born with magic.
Elf: The elves are a reclusive race with high intelligence and mental abilities. Their magical strengths are usually stronger because of this. They are capable of living very long, but are not immortal.
Kavinda: The Kavinda are a mysterious cat-like humanoid species that are quite rare. They have incredible physical advantages such as incredible speed and strength.
Demon: The demons, contrary to lore and legend, are not evil. In fact, they are quite a valuable part of society. They are also quite rare, and their origins are unknown. They are remarkably adept in earth and dark magics.
