Desolace is the strongest planet in the system technologically, politically, economically and militarily. Under the current reign of President Hale, Desolace has flourished, and residents enjoy a quality of life they have never experienced before. There is little crime, the job industry is booming, and the new era of peace has largely been attributed to Hale's expert management. It is incredibly diverse, and second to Larytus, contains the most residents of various races living there.
The mixture of climate is well-recognized, but rarely is any of the weather deadly or dangerous. Lightning and thunderstorms are popular for their strength, and at times the wind can become strong, but never enough to cause much damage or trouble.
You may begin.

(Rebekah/Sheo/Yugo/Drake)
It was early morning on the part of Desolace where Rebekah Fairley currently stayed, and it was then she decided to take a walk. It was nice and cold outside, so she took a knee-length coat off the rack, put on a pair of gloves and tossed a scarf around her neck. Finally putting on a head band to keep the breeze from tossing her hair in her face, she walked out the door.
She was staying out in the quiet countryside on some time away from work and study. It was a quiet town with not many people, and she knew almost everyone there at least a little. She had a few friends here, and as she started to walk the path out towards one of the deeper forests, she saw one of them, Sheogorath. Rebekah jogged over to him and stopped at his side.
"Hey you!" she said cheerfully. "I'm going for a walk for a while. Want to come?"

Sheogorath wandered aimlessly out into town, while taking some time to ponder over the buildings. He was used to the cold after being in it for quite a while, so he unzipped his jacket. After a few minutes he noticed Rebekah jogging towards him offering him to walk with her.
He smiled, "Why of course! Anything to end this relentless wandering boredom. Is there anything specific you wanted to walk to? I've been wandering around town for a good half hour!" He chuckled

Rebekah shook her head and looked around, her breath visible as small clouds in the cold morning air. There was pretty much just forests in every direction, so there wasn't any place in particular she felt like going, as long as she could stretch her legs.
"Not really, I just want to walk," she replied. "Supposedly there's a cool little spring over to the south about a twenty minutes' walk. I haven't been there yet, but we could go that way."
At Sheo's comment she looked around the town. It really was a small place, more like a village, if that. It looked like mostly two streets with buildings lining each one, including the houses. It was a nice place, and definitely where she would choose to go to get away from everything.
The path down to where the spring supposedly was started only a little bit away, leading into the south forest. She glanced back at Sheo to see if it was ok.
"You want to go?" Rebekah grinned.

Rebekah jogged after him, not much of a runner and having difficulty keeping her breath in the cold air, but she managed well enough. The route took them far enough into the forest to where they couldn't see or hear anything else except the wind flowing through the trees and a small creek nearby. Rebekah had to slow to a walk now, but she knew they weren't very far.
The sounds of water got closer and louder, and Rebekah saw the spring through a patch of trees. The picture she had seen had made it look a lot bigger, but it was still pretty nice. The water bubbled out of a pile of rocks and split into a few small creeks that flowed off into the forest somewhere. She and Sheo were the only ones here, and she wasn't surprised.
But just after she had thought that, she sensed that someone else was there. She glanced around, wondering if she had been imagining things.

The figure of another, hardly visible from its perch up in the treetops, cracks a grin. The figure leans forward, resting its chin upon the back of its wrist, with a long wooden staff draped across its lap, a crystal ball embedded in the staff's top. A single, quiet, chuckle escapes the figure's mouth as its grin grows wider.
"My, I wonder if I've been spotted...?"
A single hand grasps the staff as the infrequently falling leaves begin dancing in a warped pattern around the figure, returning to normal beneath the branches. The figure trains its attention on Rebekah as she continues looking around.
"Hmmhmm, I suppose I can wait another moment or two..."

Something seemed rather off, but Rebekah didn't let it bother her. So many strange things happened in quiet areas that she was beginning to wonder where the line between "normal" and "strange" was drawn anymore.
Instead she leaned closer to examine the spring. She wondered from how far underground the water was coming. When she touched it, it was actually quite cold, meaning it couldn't have come from that far under.
"Sheo, you get to taste it," Rebekah said with a laugh, stepping away from it. She watched some of the leaves fall from the nearby trees, wondering where they should go next, but she couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.

After a few more moments of simply observing the two below, the figure lets out another low chuckle as it leans forward and, as though hanging from a set of strings, floats up off of the branch. The branch snaps back to its natural position from the lack of weight upon it. The figure lowers its legs and stands upon the branch, the staff still held in its right hand. The figure leans forward as if to drop from its perch, before shaking its head and standing straight up again.
"Aah, but first..." The figure mutters, raising its staff and jamming it into the branch, knocking several leaves from the branch to the ground below.

After a few more moments, Rebekah was more than sure there was something else there with them. She wasn't sure quite what it was yet, but when she heard the noise and turned to see a flurry of falling leaves, she removed the theory of it being birds or some other harmless thing. By now she hoped Sheo had noticed too, if he was even paying attention. She knew the risks of going out anywhere alone or with few people, but it got her every time.
She watched the leaves fall to the ground as though she were in a trance. She knew looking around in the trees wouldn't do anything but she looked anyway, as though expecting to see a pair of eyes or something else looking back down at her.
"Is someone there?" she said to no one in particular, thinking about how strange it sounded. Of course there is, we just don't know who.

The figure in the treetops looks down at Rebekah as she calls out and lets out one more low chuckle. The figure then floats up toward the sky, fading into the branches above. And it is at this point that a voice rings out from behind the two.
"Who might you be speaking to?" The voice asks, catching the both of them by surprise.

Rebekah felt a chill down her spine, but still couldn't see or hear anything. However, as she continued to look within the trees in vain, the feeling seemed to fade slowly. The leaves fell calmly again, and seemed just as innocent as before. Rebekah sighed. Maybe she really had gotten up too early.
Another voice from behind them, one that was not Sheogorath's, came from not far away. Rebekah jumped slightly. She still had a bit of the jitters. She turned around and pushed her hair out of her eyes.
"I don't know," she said distractedly, glancing for the sight of this new voice. Friendly. "I think I was imagining things..."

Sheo's ears perked up and the hairs on his neck stood on end for a brief moment. He paused to observe the nearby surroundings. As he looked around, sparks surged up and down his arms. He peered into the trees cautiously, but found nothing really noteworthy, let alone human.
He chimed up again, "Mind telling us who you are, friend?"

The man before the two, his eyes appearing to be closed despite giving every indication of a visual alertness, grins as Sheogorath asks his name. The man presses a single finger to his chin and looks skyward, as if looking through an archive of names, searching for the one he would choose on this day. The man's grin fades as he continues pondering.
"Mmh..."
The man continues looking skyward before he snaps his fingers and his wide grin returns. The man jams the wooden staff in his other hand into the ground before adopting a confident pose.
"I am Doel!" He announces firmly. "And the two of you are?"

Rebekah paused, still slightly confused, but yet somewhat thankful for the appearance of this new stranger. Even if there was nothing out there and she was simply imagining things, it was nice to have a distraction. And, as always, she was thankful for not being alone.
However, as a few more moments went by, she began to feel another sense of doubt. But nothing appeared to be wrong, so she attempted to put her paranoid feelings behind her. It was the cold air getting to her, she knew it. She realized she had been silent for a few moments, so she quickly cleared her throat to speak up.
"I'm Rebekah. Rebekah Fairley. This is a friend of mine, Sheogorath. We were out for a walk looking at the springs... I didn't realize other people liked to come out here so early!"
